Trillian now has deep hooks into Facebook and Twitter. It will automatically shorten URLs in your tweets, as well as allow direct messages, re-tweets, and replies. Twitter Trends can show up in your contact list, and you can get tweets to appear in tooltip form. Facebook features include news feed integration, Facebook Inbox checking, and synchronized message updating in addition to Facebook IM. Just on these features alone, Trillian Astra offers a bit more than its IM competitors.

Trillian Astra runs lighter than the previous version, too, and you're less likely to notice system slowdowns because of Trillian memory leaks. Video chat gets basic support, as does universal drag-and-drop file transfer. The paid upgrade gives you browser-based IM from Trillian.im, full-screen video and filters to colorize your vids, multiple simultaneous file transfer, and themes, as well as tech support. These features are available for the first 30 days you use the free version, then they deactivate. The biggest changes, besides the reskinned interface, are the long-needed performance improvements and support for a broad range of IM protocols. Longtime fans won't be disappointed.

This venerable chat client upgrades with a retooled look and enough Preference control to satisfy even the most obsessive fans of customization. ICQ 6.5 includes video, audio, and text chat modes in a strong push to make the app the most versatile chat client around.

Audio chatting was smooth and painless, although that depends on user connection, of course. There's also a new Quick IM feature that allows you to send a text chat from within your contact list. The text window is only one line high, but perfectly sized if you're just shooting off a quick note.

Many of the notable plug-ins have been folded into the new version as standard features. Standard fare in ICQ now includes SMS messaging and the Flash-movie tZers as well as alerts and skins. Consequentially, the quick-loading app has a larger footprint. Ad banners are nonexistent except in the built-in games, and all text chat histories are automatically saved. Some features, like Push2Talk, seem to have been phased out of the new version, and customizing tZers is no longer an option. Also, the Help option is non-functional in this release.

Despite a few minor setbacks, there are too many improvements to keep ICQ down. Other notable additions include split-screen compatibility, IM forwarding, and integrated Google searching. In enhancing its already rich feature set, ICQ has definitely increased its standing among its many competitors.

With today’s post, I want to show you exactly what it is you should be using to master your World of Warcraft gaming experience. I get a lot of requests for this kind of checklist, so I wanted to put it all together in a short, easy to ready guide.

What You Need

To start with, you had better have a good computer. Lag, poor resolution, and heat prone laptops are all bad for WoW. You need the top performance around if you want to do well in this game, especially in raiding and PvP. Next up, you’d better spend some time developing the tools you’ll need to get through the game.

That means a whole lot of add-ons. If you’re an auction house user, get yourself Auctioneer and Auctionator. Add Postal for easy mailbox access. Boost your class with the specific class add-ons you need for your character, and get the tools you’ll need for your raiding experience and PvP in the form of TitanPanel and CT_Mod. These are all great ways to boost your overall experience when you use the game’s many different interface options.

The Guides

Finally, there are people who want to know if they need a good guide to get to Level 80 and beyond. Personally, I say it’s up to you and what you specifically want for your character. There are plenty of good gold guides, levelling guides, and PvP strategies out there to help you level up. However, if you’re even remotely serious about getting to the top, you’ll want one of the high end all-in-one guides like Warcraft Blueprint – complete with levelling guides, gold, PvP, and class information.

During installation, you have to be careful if you don't want to set JetAudio Basic as the default application for audio and video files. However, the freeware application gives you plenty of reasons to make it your only player.

The interface has a modern design that looks like an equalizer. You can customize each section of the program, from CD ripping to format conversion, to your heart's content. The program can convert files among some a number of formats, as well as read and edit MP3 tags. The built-in Cross-fader, Reverb, and Wide-sound modes provide a nice touch not found in most MP3 players. The program becomes truly unique with its clock, however, which features a timer and an alarm. We also appreciate the inclusion of a tool for seeking out song lyrics.

Our only quibble is it treats a playlist as an album but uses the artist as its primary key field, making it difficult to locate mixes. JetAudio Basic's appealing product set should attract audiophiles.

TECHNICHS

JetAudio plays various music and video files. Features included are: CD Burning, Recording, and File Conversion. You can create Internet Broadcasts with JetCast. JetAudio plays most major file formats and various video or audio tracks. You can even convert audio files to various formats. A special feature is Video conversion which can make video files compatible for your portable devices such as iPOD or PSP. Other features include: sound effects (Wide, Reverb, and X-Bass), multichannel sound output, speed control for audio playback, cross-fading, skin changes, and synchronized lyric display for MIDI and MP3s.
